Launched in 1996, the Skoda Octavia marks its 30th anniversary and is approaching 8 million units sold. This model, available as both a sedan and a station wagon, has built its reputation on simplicity and spaciousness. I recently had the opportunity to drive the Skoda Octavia equipped with the efficient 1.5 TSI m-HEV engine, delivering 150 horsepower.
Subtle Styling Updates
The Skoda Octavia Combi received a facelift in 2024. The Czech manufacturer focused on minor yet impactful updates to modernize the mid-cycle model, which has been on the market since 2019. The front features a new headlight design that incorporates a comma-shaped light signature. At the rear, the focus was also on the lighting elements, with the taillights adopting a three-dimensional appearance. The front and rear bumpers have seen slight modifications, along with the grille.




For its 30th anniversary, Skoda has opted for a conservative approach to the Octavia's styling. A special anniversary edition has been introduced to the lineup. Despite the emergence of electric SUVs, Skoda is committed to the Octavia, with a second facelift scheduled for 2027. This fourth generation of the Octavia is approaching a decade on the market, reflecting its relevance and continued sales success.
Spacious Interior
The Skoda Octavia Combi is built on the MQB Evo platform from the Volkswagen Group. However, it seems that the Czech manufacturer has found ways to maximize space. With a length of 4.70 meters and a wheelbase of 2.68 meters, there is ample room inside.
