Rally Regione Piemonte 2026: Lancia's Bold Return with Ypsilon Rally4 HF and Rally6

The Rally Regione Piemonte is set to be more than just another date on the calendar for Lancia. The brand officially marked its return to the rally scene in April 2025 on the winding roads of the Langhe region. Now, just over a year later, Lancia is poised to make a significant impact in Alba with a well-established project that engages drivers of varying skill levels and aims to secure a prominent position in the Italian rallying landscape.

The 2026 edition of the Rally Regione Piemonte, scheduled from July 31 to August 2, will serve as the fifth round of the Italian Absolute Rally Championship Sparco and the fifth stage of the Lancia Trophy, acting as a penultimate event before the season concludes at the Rallye Sanremo.

The Lancia Trophy Reaches a Critical Stage

The rally will showcase the Ypsilon Rally4 HF and the Ypsilon HF Racing Rally6, two vehicles central to Lancia's sporting program designed to support drivers with diverse experiences and aspirations. This initiative aims to create a progressive growth path, starting from the Rally6 category and moving up to higher classes.

The Rally Regione Piemonte holds particular significance in the championship race, as it will be the last event before the Rallye Sanremo decides the 2026 Lancia Trophy champion. A noteworthy incentive awaits the trophy winner under the age of 35: they will have the option to choose between an official program in the Italian Absolute Rally Championship Sparco with the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale or a season in the FIA European Rally Championship behind the wheel of the Ypsilon Rally4 HF.

Leading the standings is Simone Di Giovanni, partnered with navigator Mario Colella, boasting three victories in the first four races of the season. Close on his heels are Moreno Cambiaghi with Giulia Paganoni, and Edoardo De Antoni, navigated by Martina Musiari, who recently clinched victory at the Rally Due Valli. These three also occupy top positions in the Master category.

Emerging Talents and Established Names Compete

The spotlight will also shine on the younger talents of the Trophy. In the Junior category, Nicolò Ardizzone leads the rankings, racing alongside Alessandro Scartabellini. Meanwhile, in the Under 25 category, attention turns to Federico Gangi, who will benefit from the experience of navigator Fabrizia Pons. Other notable entries include Gianmarco Lazzarato with Devis Bernardi, and a female duo composed of Asia Vidori and Alice Tasselli.

The Trophy's international dimension is further highlighted by the participation of Efe Urundul with Denis Piceno, and Jonas Muller, partnered with Anna-Maria Seidl. In the Expert category, the competition will feature Emanuele Fiore, navigated by Lisa Bollito, and Roberto Gobbin, with Lorenzo Mattucci, both vying for the lead held by Christian Casadei.

Supporting all participants will be two prominent figures in Italian rallying: Andrea Crugnola, who will also compete in the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, and Marco Cavigioli, confirmed as the dedicated coach for the Trophy.

Lancia's Sports Revival Centered in Piemonte

The Rally Regione Piemonte underscores the strong connection between Lancia and its birthplace. During the event's official presentation, CEO Roberta Zerbi emphasized that Piemonte is the ideal setting for developing the brand's new sports initiative, given its automotive heritage, technical expertise, and the enthusiasm of the local audience.

Additionally, collaboration with ACI Sport continues, with the Ypsilon Rally4 HF selected as the official vehicle for the Italian Absolute Rally Junior Championship in 2026. This partnership provides young drivers from ACI Team Italia with a comprehensive growth pathway developed entirely in Italy. A significant role is also played by Miki Biasion, advisor to Lancia Corse HF, who shares his experience with young teams through mentoring activities.

Following the Alba stage, attention will shift to the Rallye Sanremo, the final event of the season, where the Lancia Trophy 2026 title will be awarded, marking the conclusion of a championship that is instrumental in solidifying Lancia's return to the rallying world.
