Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II: More Bamboo, Fewer Technical Surprises
Rolls-Royce has announced the updated Spectre Series II coupe, which features a number of technical and creative enhancements.

Rolls-Royce has announced the updated Spectre Series II coupe, which features a number of technical and creative enhancements.

After the update, the Rolls-Royce Spectre has changed little in appearance. It is difficult to distinguish the Series II version from its predecessor, even for a discerning brand enthusiast. The main innovations are hidden in the technical aspects and the list of materials used in the interior.
Shared Technology with BMW and Familiar Limitations
The updated Spectre is closely related to the BMW i7 electric sedan, which has also recently undergone modernization. This is why the technical changes in both models are largely similar.
One of the main drawbacks remains the absence of an 800-volt architecture. Such a system has become common in many premium electric vehicles today, as it significantly reduces charging time. However, both the BMW i7 and the Rolls-Royce Spectre continue to use a 400-volt platform.

Despite this, there is some progress. The 112 kWh battery has allowed the range to increase by approximately 20%. It now stands at around 630 km according to the WLTP cycle. The charging speed has also improved somewhat, although the manufacturer does not emphasize this.
The Black Badge version has become more powerful. The powertrain output has increased to 500 kW (680 hp), and the maximum torque has reached 1,100 Nm.
Buyers Are More Interested in the Interior
However, for most Rolls-Royce customers, technical specifications are unlikely to be the main argument when choosing a vehicle. In the nearly four years since the Spectre debuted in 2022, it is doubtful that many owners have complained about a range of around 500 km or a charging power of approximately 200 kW.
The base version of the model previously offered 430 kW (584 hp) and 900 Nm, providing confident dynamics and a top speed of up to 250 km/h. For buyers in this segment, the quality of materials and personalization options remain significantly more important.
This is why the main focus of the Series II is on new interior materials. In particular, Rolls-Royce has introduced Duality Twill fabric, made from viscose based on natural bamboo. This material is now available for the Spectre for the first time.

In keeping with the brand's tradition, the new model has its own origin story. The company explains that the inspiration came from the bamboo garden Jardin des Méditerranées on the French Riviera, located near the former winter residence of co-founder Henry Royce - Villa Mimosa.
Price Will Almost Certainly Increase
The curb weight of the Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II is around 2.9 tons, but for potential buyers, another figure will be significantly more important. The previous version was priced at around €390,000, and there are every reason to believe that after the update, the starting price will be even higher.
