Signum Stile, an automotive design house based in Milan, specializes in the creation of supercars and bespoke projects. Founded by Michele Leonello alongside Pau Brañas and Marco Renna—serving as Chief Design Officer, Chief Creative Officer, and Chief Technical Officer respectively—the company is experiencing rapid growth and transformation.
Currently, Signum Stile is evolving with the establishment of a new headquarters, a move driven by the expansion of its team, which now exceeds twenty members. This growth is accompanied by a series of high-profile projects that necessitate a revamped organizational structure.
A significant addition to the team is Gianluca Cordua, who has taken on the role of Design Director. With a distinguished background in luxury automotive design, including previous positions as Design Manager at Granstudio and Head of Design at ARES Modena, Cordua is tasked with shaping the design vision of Signum Stile. He emphasizes the goal of “giving form to the pure vision of the studio,” as the new headquarters is set to open this autumn near Milan.
The choice of location for the new studio is strategic. It will be situated in the heart of what is becoming a prominent design and automotive technology district in Milan, an area historically associated with iconic brands like Alfa Romeo.
For the designers at Signum Stile, their connection to the region is a core aspect of their identity. Their approach to clients, primarily international, is rooted in celebrating and sharing the culture of Italian automotive design.
In a time when personalization is crucial, even for major luxury brands with in-house tailor-made departments, a flexible entity like Signum Stile positions itself as a competitive partner for the future of limited-series vehicles and supercars. Cordua shares this vision enthusiastically, stating, “At Signum Stile, we work towards purity in stylistic research, not solely tied to engineering needs, as is often the case in authorial design. We operate in a rapidly expanding segment where Italy showcases unique artisanal know-how and aesthetic sensitivity. Our manifesto is to conceive unique objects, returning to being true 'tailors of car bodies' in close contact with local master artisans.”
