Audi Returns to the Supercar World: Nuvolari to Feature Nearly 1,000 hp and a Price of Around €500,000

Audi has unveiled the new supercar Nuvolari. The hybrid coupe combines Lamborghini technology with Audi's developments in Formula 1.

The new model is named after the legendary Italian racer Tazio Nuvolari, who drove for Auto Union - the historical predecessor of Audi. Production will be limited to just 499 units.

Lamborghini Technology, but More Powerful

The Audi Nuvolari is based on the Lamborghini Temerario architecture. The powertrain consists of a 4.0-liter gasoline V8 with twin turbochargers and three electric motors. The total output reaches 1,001 hp, which even surpasses that of its Lamborghini counterpart.

The supercar features a quattro all-wheel-drive system, active torque distribution between the wheels, and a hybrid system inspired by Formula 1 technologies.

According to preliminary data, acceleration to 100 km/h takes about 2.6 seconds, and the top speed reaches 350 km/h.

Carbon Fiber, Active Aerodynamics, and a New Audi Philosophy

The Nuvolari's body is made of carbon fiber and is mounted on an upgraded Audi Space Frame chassis. The car features active aerodynamics, a downforce control system, and a range of solutions previously used only in motorsport.

The interior focuses on the driver. Carbon fiber seats, aluminum trim elements, and a minimalist control layout are utilized.

Not a Successor to the R8, but a New Flagship

Audi emphasizes that the Nuvolari is not a direct replacement for the R8. While the previous supercar was a relatively affordable model in its class, the new model moves into a significantly more expensive segment.

The expected price is around €500,000, and the limited production run is set to make the model one of the most exclusive cars in the brand's history. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first half of 2027.
