Bentley Marks 80 Years in Crewe with Exclusive One-Off Continental GTC

In 2026, Bentley will commemorate a significant milestone, celebrating 80 years of production at its historic Crewe facility. This British marque has been crafting its luxury vehicles at this operational heart since 1946. To mark this occasion, Bentley hosted an event featuring over 100 historic Bentleys, alongside the unveiling of a unique Continental GTC specifically designed to honor this landmark anniversary.

The celebration not only pays tribute to the brand's long-standing craftsmanship but also showcases the transformation of the historic factory into the future Dream Factory, which is set to produce the next generation of Bentleys, including fully electric models.

Eight Decades of Production in Crewe

The Pyms Lane facility in Crewe has been the epicenter of Bentley production for eighty years. Initially established in 1938 for the renowned Rolls-Royce Merlin aircraft engines, it transitioned to automotive manufacturing in 1946.

To honor the anniversary, 107 Bentleys from members of the Bentley Drivers Club returned to Crewe, which is also celebrating its own 90th anniversary this year. The vehicles were displayed in chronological order, starting from the EXP3, one of the first Bentleys delivered to a customer, and culminating with a modern Flying Spur Speed from 2025.

This exhibition traversed over a century of the manufacturer's history, featuring models from various eras, including those from the W.O. Bentley period, the iconic Blower models, and the current Bentayga SUVs as well as the latest luxury sedans.

An Exclusive Continental GTC for the Anniversary

The highlight of the celebrations was the reveal of a Bentley Continental GTC, crafted as a one-off by the Mulliner division, known for its bespoke customizations. This vehicle features a unique Supernova Purple Ombre paint, developed specifically for the occasion. The color transitions from Supernova Purple to Supernova Purple Dark, creating a distinctive chromatic effect.

The customization includes a dedicated 80th anniversary graphic on the sides, specially finished wheels, and numerous exclusive details within the cabin. Notable features include embroidered headrests with the commemorative “80” logo and a dashboard decoration depicting the historic Design Studio building, along with references to the eight decades of production in Crewe.

This one-off model embodies the blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and attention to detail that has always defined Bentley vehicles.

The Dream Factory Looks to an Electric Future

The celebrations also underscored Bentley's commitment to the future. The company reiterated its plans to transform the Crewe facility into the Dream Factory, a next-generation production site designed to incorporate digitalization, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing processes.

In recent years, the site has undergone significant renovations, including the establishment of new facilities focused on design, research and development, quality, logistics, and painting. Furthermore, the company is converting one of its historic buildings into the assembly line for the first fully electric Bentley, expected to debut in September.

In addition to this, the global launch of the new Torcal model is anticipated, which aims to expand the British manufacturer’s range.

The special Mulliner Continental GTC introduced for the occasion perfectly encapsulates this dual identity: a tribute to the past, while also serving as a symbol of Bentley’s ability to evolve without abandoning the values that have built its prestige over more than a century of history.
