DS Unveils the DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE: A Modern Take on Presidential Luxury

The DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE was officially presented during the Bastille Day parade on July 14, 2026, marking its entry into the fleet of the French Presidency. This model, based on the DS N°7 AWD Long Range, stands out as the first fully electric official vehicle for the Élysée, reviving a long-lost technology from Citroën/DS: oléopneumatic suspension.

Enhanced Security Features

The DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE boasts comprehensive armor crafted by Centigon in Lamballe-Armor, meeting the stringent security requirements of the French Presidency. Its wheelbase has been extended by 25 centimeters compared to the standard DS N°7, providing additional rear space.

To accommodate the increased weight of the armored vehicle, the suspension system has been specially developed and fine-tuned in France by Nimbus. This custom suspension is designed to handle the significant mass of the armored configuration.

The vehicle also includes features tailored for presidential use, such as removable flag holders, specialized lighting signals, and integrated security systems. The illuminated front displays the three colors of the French Republic.

A Mobile Office

The rear section of the DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE has been redesigned to function as a mobile workspace. The rear side windows are equipped with adjustable tinting, allowing for varying opacity levels depending on the situation.

National Colors and Unique Design

The body of the vehicle is finished in a distinctive shade called Bleu Liberté. The illuminated grille shines in blue, white, and red, reflecting the colors of the French flag, which are also featured on the hood emblem, trunk trim, and wheel centers.

Luxurious Interior

Inside, the cabin combines a light grey Alcantara headliner with Nappa leather and blue Alcantara seats and door panels. The dashboard is adorned with laser-engraved ash wood featuring the figure of Marianne. The steering wheel and air vents showcase intricate guilloché patterns, while gold stitching and “RF” embroidery enhance the luxurious finish.

Proudly Made in France

The vehicle's armor and modifications were completed in Brittany at Centigon, while the battery is sourced from Hauts-de-France, manufactured by ACC. Electric motors are produced in the Grand Est region, and the suspension system is developed in Occitanie. The audio system is designed in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, emphasizing DS Automobiles' commitment to exceptional French craftsmanship, especially for a vehicle destined for the presidency.

Impressive Performance Specs

The DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE is powered by a 350-horsepower E-TENSE electric motor, drawing energy from a 97.2 kWh battery. Two electric motors deliver power to all four wheels. However, details on the vehicle's range remain undisclosed. Given its additional length and armor, the weight likely exceeds 3.5 tons, suggesting a range closer to 300 km, compared to the standard DS N°7's 679 km WLTP range.

A Longstanding Relationship with the Élysée

The legacy of DS vehicles at the Élysée dates back to the DS 19 used by General de Gaulle. Over the years, various generations of DS and SM models have served the French presidency, often featuring custom coachwork by Chapron. The DS N°8 PRÉSIDENTIELLE had already made an appearance during the May 8 commemorations in 2025, showcasing the ongoing tradition.

The Élysée possesses nine license plates in the format "X PR 75," which can be assigned to official vehicles, including the DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE, which carries the plaque "7 PR 75."

Global Spotlight Before Official Launch

French automakers frequently compete to provide official vehicles for the Élysée, especially since these cars are showcased worldwide during the July 14 celebrations, garnering immediate publicity.

For DS Automobiles, the unveiling of the DS N°7 ÉLYSÉE precedes the launch of the standard model, which has been available for order for several weeks and is set to hit the market in September. The standard version will feature a fully electric option with an anticipated range of up to 740 km in mixed WLTP cycle and a hybrid version with emissions starting at 120 g of CO2/km. It will also include advanced driver assistance systems (DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0), night vision (DS NIGHT VISION), an extended head-up display, and connectivity features. However, the standard models will not include the oléopneumatic suspension, which is a notable absence.
