Porsche Unveils Unique Taycan Turbo GT Sonderwunsch

Porsche has introduced a one-of-a-kind Taycan Turbo GT Sonderwunsch, showcasing an exclusive paint job and unprecedented finishes.

Porsche has taken a significant step in customizing its electric vehicles with this unique Taycan Turbo GT, crafted through the Sonderwunsch program. Commissioned by a Swiss client with a passion for high-performance electric cars, this model features an exceptional level of personalization, combining an exclusive exterior configuration, specialized materials, and numerous components developed specifically for this vehicle.

The owner, already a collector of three fully electric sports sedans from the Zuffenhausen brand, aimed to acquire the Taycan Turbo GT as soon as it was announced as Porsche's new flagship model. Collaborating with the Porsche Centre Lugano and specialists from the Sonderwunsch department, the client transformed this powerful electric sports car into a unique creation that blends performance, luxury, and craftsmanship.

This project incorporates about thirty customization elements. According to Porsche, more than half of these components were entirely new developments, implemented for the first time on this model. The initiative reflects the German automaker's commitment to extending its expertise in personalization to high-performance electric vehicles.

Inspiration from Lake Lugano

The Sonderwunsch project was driven by the client's desire to capture the emotions associated with the changing colors of Lake Lugano. The golden and orange reflections observed at sunrise and sunset inspired the visual identity of this unique Taycan Turbo GT.

The client approached Porsche specialists with detailed ideas and a vision of their ideal vehicle. The teams then collaborated with him to translate this vision into tangible elements for both the exterior and interior.

Three meetings held in Zuffenhausen, along with numerous discussions between the owner and the Sonderwunsch teams, allowed for the gradual refinement of the final configuration. The result merges the sporty character of the Taycan Turbo GT with a more exclusive approach, inspired by traditional automotive luxury codes.

Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Product and Customization Offer at Porsche, explained that the Sonderwunsch program has been a central part of the brand's personalization offerings for several years. He noted that adapting a Taycan to such a high level of individualization represented a new challenge for Porsche.

Holger Gerrmann, General Director of Porsche Schweiz AG, emphasized that this achievement highlights the importance of individuality, quality, and craftsmanship within the Sonderwunsch universe.

Exclusive Nordicgoldmetallic Exterior

The exterior of this Taycan Turbo GT stands out with its Nordicgoldmetallic hue, sourced from the Paint to Sample program. This yellow-orange-red color resembles gold and references some of the golden shades historically used by Porsche on the 911 and 914 during the 1970s.

This inspiration also recalls the return of similar colors on several recent Porsche models, including the 997 generation of the 911, the 987 generation of the Boxster and Cayman, as well as the Cayenne GTS in the late 2000s.

The body features several contrasting elements designed to enhance its exclusivity. The Porsche crest in Turbonite is mounted on the front luggage compartment cover. The upper parts of the mirror shells, the B-pillars, and the Gurney flap of the adaptive rear spoiler are finished in gloss black.

The front inserts and side skirts showcase a satin Neodyme finish, which is also present on the outer rims of the 21-inch forged wheels of the Taycan Turbo GT. The wheels are painted in satin black and complemented by matching details, such as black valve caps, balancing weights, and center caps featuring the Porsche emblem in Turbonite.

This combination of colors and materials allows the model to maintain its identity as a high-performance electric sports car while adopting a more exclusive presentation.

Interior Blending Sport and Luxury

Inside, Porsche continues its customization efforts with a specific combination of materials and colors. The seats are particularly striking, featuring central sections in black and slate gray Pepita fabric, paired with pebble gray leather and black Race-Tex on the side armrests and headrests.

The interior finishes adopt various shades designed to create a premium ambiance. Decorative stitching in Crayon, piping, and "turbo GT" embroidery in Mojave Beige add visual contrasts. The dashboard and door panels reflect the combinations of pebble gray and black, completed by specific stitching.

Attention to detail is evident in numerous elements. The storage compartment lid features a Sonderwunsch logo embossed in pebble gray leather. Several interior components are painted in Neodyme, including the gear lever, air vent surrounds, cup holder outlines, and door handles.

The customized GT sport steering wheel is wrapped in Race-Tex, with a 12 o'clock marker in Mojave Beige. The airbag module is covered in leather and surrounded by a Neodyme ring. Carbon fiber elements on the steering wheel reflect the exterior Nordicgoldmetallic color through a specific finish.

The door sills boast an illuminated "turbo GT" inscription in orange. The interior is completed with Atacama Beige seatbelts, personalized floor mats, a handcrafted vehicle document color, and a specific key case.

With this Taycan Turbo GT Sonderwunsch, Porsche demonstrates that high-end automotive personalization can also be applied to sporty electric vehicles. This unique creation marries the electric technology of the Taycan with traditional luxury automotive codes and craftsmanship.

Conclusion

This Taycan Turbo GT Sonderwunsch exemplifies the evolution of automotive personalization towards high-performance electric vehicles. Porsche utilizes its individualization program to offer a unique configuration based on aesthetic choices and specialized materials. The project also illustrates that electric models can incorporate luxury approaches typically associated with exclusive combustion-engine vehicles. However, this remains a singular example developed at the request of a client.
