Lotus Emira 420 Sport: The British Brand Puts Driving Pleasure at the Center of the Game
While many manufacturers accelerate their transition to electric vehicles, Lotus chooses to remind us of what built its reputation. With the new Emira 420 Sport, the British firm unveils an even more radical version of its thermal coupe, focusing on lightness, sensations, and mechanical efficiency.

While many manufacturers are accelerating their transition to electric vehicles, Lotus chooses to remind us of what built its reputation. With the new Emira 420 Sport, the British firm unveils an even more radical version of its thermal coupe, focusing on lightness, sensations, and mechanical efficiency.
An Even More Performant Emira
The new Lotus Emira 420 Sport benefits from several enhancements aimed at reinforcing its sporty character. Under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG sourced turbocharged four-cylinder engine now develops 420 hp, which is an increase of 15 hp compared to the previous version.
This power boost is accompanied by significant weight reduction. Lotus announces a mass reduction of 25 kg thanks to the integration of carbon fiber components and the adoption of a titanium exhaust system. Staying true to its historical philosophy, the manufacturer continues to regard weight as a crucial element of performance.

Thanks to these improvements, the British coupe claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h.
Visible Evolutions on the Outside
This Sport variant does not only progress mechanically. Several modifications also allow it to be visually distinguished from the rest of the range.
The front air intakes gain volume to improve cooling, while the side skirts adopt a specific design. The rear receives a louvered rear window and a redesigned spoiler, contributing both to the visual identity of the model and its aerodynamic efficiency.
The overall look enhances the aggressive stance of the Emira without distorting the elegant lines that have contributed to its success.
Choosing Sensations Over Absolute Performance
On paper, some electric sports cars today boast even more impressive acceleration figures. However, Lotus is not looking to compete in that arena. The brand prioritizes an approach that is more centered on driving sensations and driver involvement.
The 420 Sport thus receives revised suspension with adjustable Multimatic dampers, a new tire setup, and a ride height lowered by 5 mm. These enhancements are designed to offer more precision and enjoyment on both road and track.

Marketed starting at €129,900, this version stands as a true homage to Lotus's historical values. It also illustrates the manufacturer's desire to maintain a thermal offering for enthusiasts, especially as its recent electric models have not garnered the expected enthusiasm from its traditional customer base.
