Typically, Launch mode optimizes power management, transmission, and traction to achieve the best possible acceleration from a standstill. For electric vehicles, this function utilizes the instant torque available from the motors to maximize performance.
Customers have already begun receiving the first Rivian R2 Performance models equipped with the Launch Package since June. Reports indicate that production numbers have surpassed 2,000 units, suggesting that Rivian is on track with its production goals. However, there have been anecdotal accounts of a temporary pause in deliveries before a recent resumption of VIN allocations.
