Toyota GR GT Unveils Extreme Prototype at Nürburgring
The Toyota GR GT is set to introduce an extreme version alongside the standard model, featuring advanced aerodynamics and a hybrid powertrain, as seen in recent Nürburgring tests.

The highly anticipated Toyota GR GT is set to expand its lineup with a more extreme version, complementing the standard model. Recent footage from the Nürburgring shows prototypes undergoing rigorous testing, hinting at exciting developments ahead of the car's market launch next year.

The prototype features a more aggressive design compared to the base GR GT, showcasing advanced aerodynamic solutions reminiscent of the GR GT3 racing variant. Importantly, this extreme version will not be confined to the racetrack; it will be street-legal, allowing enthusiasts to enjoy its performance on public roads.
A standout aspect of the Toyota GR GT “hard” package is its pronounced aerodynamic elements. The car boasts a more substantial splitter than the standard model, while a large rear wing with swan-neck supports enhances aerodynamic efficiency, a feature commonly found in racing vehicles. Additionally, the prototype incorporates visible carbon fiber elements, including air vents on the front fenders, reminiscent of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and canard wings at the front bumper corners. It remains to be seen whether these aerodynamic components will be exclusive to this new variant or offered as an optional package for the base GR GT.
The extreme prototype is also expected to feature a hybrid powertrain, indicated by a yellow sticker typically found on electrified systems. This version will likely maintain the same hybrid setup as the standard GR GT, combining a twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric unit to produce around 650 horsepower. Weight is another critical factor, with the base GR GT's aluminum chassis keeping its weight below 1,750 kg. The sportier variant may further reduce this weight through increased use of carbon fiber materials.
