This Ford Taunus 15M sedan was found in a courtyard in Odessa and has recently been delivered to the capital's Technical Museum "Wheels of History" for further restoration.
The car was produced in 1967, and by 1971, it was brought from Cologne to Odessa by one of the sailors. The vehicle changed several owners and was in use until 2014, when the clutch failed. As a result, it stood still for 12 years and literally became embedded in the ground.
Local children took a liking to the car, as evidenced by the deformed roof, shattered windshield, and "enhanced" interior. Now the car awaits a new life. The engine is alive and will work after cleaning the carburetor. This particular model is equipped with the most powerful engine in the lineup – a 1.7-liter producing 70 hp.
The Ford Taunus 12M/15M was produced in various body styles - two-/four-door sedan, three-door station wagon, including a van based on it, as well as a coupe. From September 1966 to August 1970, 670,000 cars were manufactured, including 385,000 of the 15M model. The others were the 12M. The former had rectangular headlights, while the latter had round ones.
