Alpine Prepares the Future of Its Berlinette with a 100% Electric A110

Alpine is set to take a major step in the history of its iconic sports car. The French brand is indeed preparing the successor to the current Alpine A110, a model that marked its modern revival, with the arrival of a new generation that is fully electric. This future berlinette will represent a significant strategic evolution for the manufacturer, which aims to maintain the spirit of lightness and driving pleasure while transitioning into a new era.

A First Public Appearance Scheduled at Goodwood

While several market players are slowing down their ambitions for electric sports cars, Alpine continues its trajectory without deviating from its strategy. The manufacturer plans to unveil a first prototype during the Festival of Speed at Goodwood, held from July 9 to 12.

This will not be a finalized production model, but rather a development mule intended to validate the technical choices in real-world conditions and provide a first glimpse of the future model. Nonetheless, this public appearance represents a strong symbolic step, suggesting that the program is already well advanced.

A Series Presentation Approaching

The presence of a demonstration prototype suggests that the development of this future electric A110 is entering its final phase. An official presentation could thus occur in the following months, potentially during the Paris Motor Show, or through a show car very close to the final version.

This strategy would allow Alpine to capitalize on the interest generated by the prototype while refining the final details before the commercial launch.

A Technical Base Designed for Performance

This new generation will be based on a specific architecture developed with the Renault group. Named the APP platform, it has been designed to meet the demands of a compact and efficient electric sports car.

The technical program includes a dual-motor configuration to ensure optimized transmission and enhanced traction. The extensive use of aluminum aims to keep the weight down, while the battery will be split into two modules, positioned at the front and rear, to lower the center of gravity and improve weight distribution.

The entire setup is also expected to adopt an 800-volt architecture, a technical choice aimed at significantly reducing charging times and enhancing the overall efficiency of the system.

A Design True to the Spirit of the Berlinette

Stylistically, Alpine seems intent on preserving the historical DNA of the A110, despite the evolution already underway with models like the A290 or A390. This future generation should thus maintain a strictly two-seater configuration and a philosophy focused on lightness and agility.

The stated goal remains clear: to maintain the essence of the berlinette while adapting it to the constraints and opportunities of electrification. A delicate balance, but essential to preserve the identity of the brand's iconic sports car.
