New Cupra Raval 2026: From Affordable City Car to Electric Sports Car
With the Cupra Raval, Cupra is venturing into the largely unexplored territory of electric city cars with a sporty vocation, appealing to a younger audience while reviving the spirit of small sports cars.

With the Cupra Raval, Cupra is venturing into a territory that is still largely unexplored: that of electric city cars with a sporty vocation. An ambitious proposal designed to appeal to a younger clientele while reviving the spirit of the small sports cars that have marked the recent history of the brand.
Since its independence from Seat, Cupra has focused on models with a more premium and powerful positioning, leaving the city car segment aside. However, the legacy left by the Ibiza Cupra remains very much present in the brand's DNA. With the Raval, this spirit is reinterpreted in a 100% electric version, with a clearly defined target: a new generation of drivers, more sensitive to design, technology, and image.
An Electric City Car with Multiple Ambitions
The Raval is based on the MEB+ platform, an evolution of the Volkswagen Group's electric architecture, also intended for other upcoming urban models. The goal is clear: to offer a car that is both accessible and capable of delivering performance worthy of a small sports car. A delicate balance, reflected in a wide range and varied technical choices.

In its entry-level version, the Raval develops 116 horsepower and relies on a 37.5 kWh battery, allowing for approximately 300 kilometers of range. An intermediate variant of 135 horsepower is also offered with similar characteristics. These versions primarily aim to democratize access to electric mobility, with a starting price set below 26,000 euros.

But the Raval is not limited to being just an affordable electric city car. More powerful versions complement the range, starting with a 211-horsepower variant paired with a 52 kWh battery, capable of reaching up to 450 kilometers of range. At the top, the VZ variant boasts 226 horsepower and top-tier performance, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds.
A Bold Design and Premium Presentation
Regardless of the power level, the Cupra Raval maintains a strong visual identity. The style is characterized by taut lines, a plunging front, and elements inspired by the world of motorsport. The muscular profile and aerodynamic details enhance this impression of dynamism, while the rear light strip visually accentuates the width of the vehicle.

At 4.04 meters long, the Raval remains compact, even though its height is slightly greater than that of a traditional thermal city car, due to the integration of the battery into the floor. Some versions, particularly the VZ, further emphasize this sporty dimension with wheels that can reach 19 inches and more expressive body elements.

Inside, the ambiance is decidedly modern and immersive. The digital instrumentation and the central screen oriented towards the driver reflect a desire to place the user experience at the heart of the project. The multimedia system is based on Android OS, providing direct access to applications and connected services, a first for the brand.

The cabin also stands out for its refined atmosphere, blending ambient lighting, premium materials, and specific color accents. The bucket seats, especially in the high-end versions, enhance the sporty dimension without completely sacrificing comfort.
Unexpected Versatility in the Segment
Despite its dynamic positioning, the Raval does not forget the constraints of everyday life. Thanks to a wheelbase of 2.60 meters, the interior space is convincing for the category, allowing rear passengers to be accommodated comfortably. The trunk, with its announced 441 liters, is even among the best in its segment, a significant argument for versatile use.

On the charging side, the performance is also noteworthy. The entry-level versions accept rapid charging power of up to 88 kW, while variants equipped with the larger battery can reach 130 kW, allowing for a charge from 10 to 80% in just over 20 minutes under optimal conditions.
