With a Smaller Battery, the Cupra Raval Becomes More Accessible

The Cupra Raval continues its offensive in the electric city car market with the arrival of new entry-level versions. By adopting a reduced-capacity battery, the Spanish manufacturer lowers the entry price of its model while maintaining a sleek presentation and modern equipment. An evolution that allows it to target a broader clientele without renouncing its identity.

An Expanded Range to Lower the Entry Price

Until now, the Raval was only available with a 52 kWh battery within the Endurance, VZ, Business trims, and the special Avnier series. While these versions highlighted performance and range, they also came with high price tags.

Cupra is now revising its offer with the new Raval and Plus trims. Both rely on a 37 kWh LFP battery, which allows the starting price to be lowered to €25,995. The Plus trim is offered starting at €30,150.

This strategy brings the Raval closer to the most affordable electric models on the market, even though it remains slightly more expensive than its technical cousin, the Volkswagen ID. Polo Trend.

Comprehensive Equipment Despite a Lower Price

The price reduction does not come with excessive stripping down. Cupra retains a generous standard equipment list to preserve the premium positioning of its city car.

The entry-level trim notably features a 12.9-inch multimedia screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, a keyless entry and start system, automatic headlights, as well as numerous driver assistance features.

The design also stays true to the spirit of the concept. The 17-inch wheels, flush door handles, triangular signature front lights, and three-dimensional rear lights allow this more affordable version to maintain a strong personality.

329 Kilometers of Range for the Base Version

The main concession naturally concerns the battery. The 37 kWh pack replaces the 52 kWh one to reduce production costs.

The Raval version develops 116 horsepower, while the Plus trim benefits from 136 horsepower. The range of the former is expected to reach 329 km in the WLTP cycle, a figure similar to that announced for the Volkswagen ID. Polo equipped with the same battery.

The Plus trim also stands out with a few additional features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, a trunk with a double floor, and wireless Android Auto compatibility.

A Financing Formula Designed to Compete with Social Leasing

Alongside this new range, Cupra is launching its commercial offer called "Leasing Rebelle." This allows customers to drive a Raval for just €199 per month without a down payment, while the Plus trim is priced at €219 monthly.

These monthly payments take into account the Coup de pouce CEE bonus, which can reach €5,170 depending on household income, as well as the estimated residual value of the vehicle.

Initial deliveries are scheduled to start from mid-September for the Raval trim and mid-October for the Plus version. With this new offer, Cupra hopes to strengthen its position in the small electric vehicle market, a segment that has become particularly strategic in Europe.
