Audi Aims to Maintain Momentum at Hungarian Grand Prix

The Audi Formula 1 team heads into the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring (July 24-26, 2026) with a positive outlook, eager to build on their recent successes. Following two consecutive points finishes, the team is determined to conclude the first half of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship on a high note.

Recent results have reflected the ongoing development efforts across the team’s three facilities. After achieving top-10 finishes in the last two races, Audi aims to deliver another strong performance on the challenging Hungaroring circuit.

Racing Director Allan McNish has acknowledged the team's progress, stating, "The recent races have showcased the development our team has undergone. Two points finishes in a row are a reward for the hard work put in at all our locations, while also motivating us to continue our intensive efforts. The Hungaroring presents us with another opportunity to build on this progress and finish the first half of the season strongly. Each race weekend provides new insights into our car that we aim to leverage."

Nico Hülkenberg also expresses optimism as the team prepares for the Budapest race. Following their outing in Spa-Francorchamps, he emphasizes the need to focus on the upcoming challenge: "The Hungaroring is a completely different track. If we can get the car into the right working window from the outset and avoid the issues that cost us time recently, we should be able to compete where we belong. This is the last race before the summer break, and we want to head into the second half of the season with a positive result."

Gabriel Bortoleto, who has scored points in the past two races, is keen to continue this streak. He remarked, "The points from the last two races have given the entire team a significant boost. We have made progress in recent weeks and want to confirm this development in Hungary. I enjoyed racing at the Hungaroring last year and look forward to returning. It would be great to finish the first half of the season with another strong result for the whole team."

In addition to the Formula 1 activities, Audi's junior driver Freddie Slater will also compete at the Hungaroring. The development driver aims to conclude the first half of the Formula 3 championship on a high note after achieving six podium finishes in the first six race weekends.
