Range Rover GT: A New Era for Luxury SUVs

The Range Rover family is set to welcome a completely new model, the Range Rover GT, which is expected to make its debut around 2028. This vehicle aims to venture into uncharted territory for the British brand, focusing on luxury SUVs with fastback Gran Turismo proportions.

Unlike traditional Range Rovers, the GT is designed to be lower and more streamlined, while still maintaining a raised driving position. However, it will feature a sportier and more dynamic setup. This new model will not replace existing vehicles in the lineup but will instead sit alongside them, showcasing a distinctly different personality.

Rendering Reveals Potential Design

Digital designer Andrei Avarvarii has offered a glimpse into the potential design of the Range Rover GT through an unofficial rendering. This visualization is based on images of prototypes that have been spotted on the road. The rendering attempts to strip away the heavy camouflage of the test mules, presenting a vision of the final version of the GT. It features the proportions of an elevated fastback, characterized by a lower, sportier roofline and a more compact body compared to traditional Range Rovers. However, it is important to note that this is merely a digital reconstruction, and the actual design may differ significantly from what is depicted.

Built on the EMA Platform

Recent reports suggest that the new Range Rover GT will utilize the EMA platform, which has been developed by the Jaguar Land Rover group for its upcoming electrified models. Initially, the GT is expected to launch with a fully electric powertrain, with a hybrid HEV version potentially following later. As of now, Range Rover has not released any official information regarding power, range, or performance.
