The challenge in creating such a vehicle goes beyond simply producing glass that can withstand ballistic threats. The outcome is the result of nearly fifty years of expertise cultivated at the Venetian facility, where Isoclima develops and manufactures transparent solutions for even the most specialized applications.

Among the integrated technologies in the vehicle is CromaLite, a solution developed by Isoclima that employs SPD technology to alter the glass's light transmittance. Essentially, the transparent material can gradually shift from a darker state to a lighter one, regulating the amount of light that passes through.

This system helps reduce glare and limits heat intake from solar radiation, enhancing comfort within the cabin. Such technology is particularly valuable in an official vehicle, where protection and comfort must meet high standards of quality and reliability.

Security Begins in Este

The armor plating of the DS N°7 Élysée is the result of an industrial process that starts in Este, at the heart of Veneto. Isoclima has developed the transparent materials by harmonizing two seemingly conflicting requirements: the necessary resistance of an armored vehicle and the visual quality demanded by its occupants. This balance is crucial. Increasing protection inevitably involves altering the structure and characteristics of the transparent materials, but in a vehicle intended for a head of state, compromised visibility or poor integration with the car is unacceptable. Thus, Italian technology becomes a fundamental part of the safety architecture of the DS N°7 Élysée.
